Analytics measures events, not their truth
An analytics system processes events according to its implementation. If a click fires correctly, it initially appears as a click. Whether it came from a human, a bot, an automated browser or a manipulated interaction is an additional classification and evidence question.
Why optimization can amplify the problem
If an unvalidated event is fed back into bidding or optimization as a success signal, the system learns from that event. If manipulated activity is cheaper or more frequent, a campaign can look more efficient in the dashboard while moving further away from real customers.
Forensics requires multiple signals
A single feature such as mouse movement, a device fingerprint or viewability is not proof. H.O.T. AG combines more than 300 real-time technical and behavioral signals from FouAnalytics with campaign, supply-chain and contextual knowledge. What matters is cross-signal consistency and documented measurement coverage.
N/A is not zero risk
If a signal cannot be measured, a tag is blocked or an environment cannot be observed independently, evidence is missing. Lack of observability should not silently be treated as confirmed quality.
The management question
The relevant question is not only what was measured. It is which parts of the reported outcome are robust enough to support budget, optimization or governance decisions.
This article describes principles and questions. Specific fraud, bot or quality rates cannot be transferred directly to individual campaigns without understanding methodology, scope and data basis.
