AUDIT MODULE 02 · STRATEGY & PLANNING

A persuasive presentation is not yet a robust media strategy.

The H.O.T. AG Strategy & Planning Audit examines whether audience analysis, market understanding, channel selection, budget allocation, reach and frequency logic, data basis, KPIs and risks are transparently connected to business and communication objectives.

What is reviewed in a media strategy?

Objectives, audience logic, market and competitive analysis, channel roles, touchpoint integration, reach and frequency assumptions, budget logic, measurability and the documented rationale behind strategic decisions.

What is reviewed in a media plan?

Budget allocation, timing, geographic priorities, media and publisher mix, frequency, planned reach and whether the planning assumptions are consistent with the strategic objectives.

What role does the data basis play?

Strategic recommendations should rest on traceable sources and assumptions. We examine which market, audience and performance data were used, how current they are and whether the conclusions actually follow from them.

Is the creative approach included?

Where media concept and creative effectiveness are linked, yes. We may assess whether formats, placements and contact intensity fit the message and the desired audience response.

What is the result?

The first output is not a replacement strategy but an independent finding: what is robust, what is unclear, where risks or contradictions exist and which points need to be adjusted or substantiated.
